Cloudsong & TillyLou – a charity event in aid of Hearing Dogs
28 February, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Move, Groove ‘n’ Chill
Cloudsong and I invite you to join us for a lazy Sunday afternoon charity event in aid of Hearing Dogs.
If we have met in person, you will know that I’m hard of hearing. I rely on my hearing aids and lip-read, especially in noisy environments like yoga shows and festivals.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People was introduced to me 7 years ago when I lived on my own and out in the sticks. I was researching if a dog could help me hear the doorbell go, and alert me to any intruders in the garden, or the house at night.
Since finding out about Hearing Dogs, I’ve been a huge supporter of their work. The dogs are an absolute life-changer for their owners, offering new opportunities for companionship and socialising with confidence, as well as the all-important safety element.
Hearing dogs are highly trained to alert deaf people to essential and life-saving sounds such as smoke alarms and intruder alarms as well as important day-to-day sounds like alarm clocks and baby monitors.
It costs £25,000 to fully train an accredited hearing dog, and any donation, however large or small, will really help. Thank you.
