Pelvic Floor Health With Loulou James & The Buttafly Technique
6 October @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am£18.00
An online event presented by Loulou James focusing on pelvic floor health for women. Would you like to enjoy chilling out while learning something every woman should know – how to relax her pelvic floor?
Maybe you have had problems for a while or started complaining of pelvic floor issues during the pandemic. Some people have recently dubbed a new phenomenon – the “pandemic pelvis”.
We know the pandemic has been a high-stress period, and that stress and anxiety can lead to a tightening of muscles, especially in the pelvic area. The problem is that tense muscles cannot do their job properly.
Alongside dysfunction, the pelvic floor muscles can become painful, leading to pain in the low back, belly, groin, and buttocks as well as the pelvic area itself.
A surefire sign that something is amiss is stress incontinence – the leakage of urine with coughing, laughing, and sneezing, or on sudden movement; also urinary urgency – when you’ve gotta go, you’ve gotta go!
Other signs and symptoms include difficulty emptying the bladder or bowels and pain during intercourse.
While it’s important for women to know how to strengthen their pelvic floor, for many what they need to learn first is how to relax these intimate muscles.
This is often easier than it sounds – habitual holding of a muscle doesn’t stop just because you wish it to be so! It takes conscious letting go – one could say active relaxation. This is the focus of this class.
