Why The Buttafly?
This one-day mini-retreat is an opportunity for you to discover just why the Buttafly Technique is a daily must-do for all kinds of people.
For some of them, the Buttafly lays by their bed, ready for use as soon as they wake up in the morning. For others, it’s the first thing that gets packed when they go off traveling. Yet others, it’s there at home, waiting for whenever they need a pick-me-up. There are the cyclists who wouldn’t be without it, runners who’ve gained strides with repetitive use, and yoga teachers who frankly say it’s changed their life.
The evolution of the Buttafly Technique and its profound effects tells a story that we should all know. This is about so much more than just back care – although the importance of the Buttafly Effect for that cannot be over-stated.

We all know how important our back is. It’s also true to say that most people take very little care of it until pain or sciatica becomes a problem. How many people know that they have terrible posture, yet don’t do anything about it? While complacency may play a part, often the main reason is they don’t know what to do about it. They may have read some books and tried a few different techniques but all without real, tangible change.
Loulou is a specialist Chartered Physiotherapist, Yoga Teacher, and Lifestyle Prescriptions® Health Coach, pioneering a truly holistic approach to back care. “Reading” posture comes so naturally to her that for a long time, she found it difficult to describe.
“I’ve always had this feeling that the posture comes from inside but it’s taken for my personal journey to unfold, and an exploration of the body-mind continuum for me to have the language to explain it.”
What You Will Get
By the end of the day, Loulou aims for you to have gained clarity and understanding as to the emotional aspects of posture.
You will also go away with a clear understanding of how to use the Buttafly Technique to rest, reset and revitalize your whole system via your spine whenever you feel the need.
The Buttafly Effect
The improvement in your posture will be a consequence of these, a by-product of your internal shifts and changes. You will no longer have to work hard to stand up straight or otherwise correct your posture. The posture will correct itself.
Who Will Benefit
This workshop is for everyone aged 16 and over.
Both men and women – there are only a few gender issues when it comes to posture. Think John Wayne!
In addition, it will be of particular benefit to anyone who suffers, or has previously, any of the following:
- Anyone who spends long hours at a desk (including students)
- Poor posture
- Coccyx injury
- Pelvic pain
- Hip pain
- Groin pain
- Psoas issues
- Adhesions following abdominal surgery
- Breathing problems and respiratory disorders

- Organ prolapse
- Pelvic floor problems (men and women)
Refreshments and a light vegetarian lunch are included. You are also welcome to bring your own.
