Yoga for Women’s Health offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to a healthy pelvic floor. Yoga in itself offers us a wonderful way to connect the mind and body. What does this mean and why is it important for women’s health?
In our culture we do not tend to be brought up thinking of our body as a tool, and something that needs to be treasured and cared for. Neither are we taught that there is a relationship between our thoughts and emotions, and our physical health. But these are the guiding principles of holistic health and wellbeing, and they offer the perfect way to approach women’s health, guiding us through the many changes we face throughout life.
In this introductory course, we will be using yoga postures and breathing techniques to help us “go within” and explore what our pelvic area and the muscles there may be telling us about ourselves. We will also be covering specific practices to improve our posture and the tone of the pelvic floor, as well as relaxation techniques to support our overall health and wellbeing.
The course is led by TillyLou James, a physiotherapist, yoga teacher, health coach, and designer of the Buttafly.
