Changing Lives for the Better

When I was first introduced to Loulou, I was struck not only by her invention, the Buttafly, but the energy and enthusiasm she put into her business and the love, care, and diligence she showed to her clients, suppliers, and friends.

She is dedicated and determined to provide her clients with the best service and advice so that they receive the best experience and, more importantly, the most positive outcome from her service.

Loulou recognised from the very start that her client’s welfare and how this was delivered were paramount.

Starting with the Buttafly, I was amazed at the innovative design and its versatility. Having been involved in discussions when extending the patent of the Buttafly to the US, I found it clear that the Buttafly was no ordinary ‘yoga aid.’ Loulou specifically designed the angle on the face of the Buttafly to help correct posture and ensure alignment of the backbone, something that was unique and novel.

I remember that some of Loulou’s rivals called the Buttafly ‘just another yoga block.’  I think this was because they wanted to downplay the fact that the Buttafly was more than that and feared the impact it would have. In truth, the Buttafly was nearer to a medical device than a simple block and, therefore, much more than a mere support apparatus. The Buttafly has proved to be powerful, and if used in the right way and with the right tuition, it works ‘miracles’, not my words but the words of people who have benefited from it. Her rivals knew this and recognised it was different.

In fact, the Buttafly has redefined what a top-notch ‘yoga aid’ is and has been helping people throughout the world with posture, back care, and back pain. In no uncertain terms, Loulou and her business have helped people restart their lives.

As if the Buttafly was not enough, Loulou herself is a force for good! She tirelessly works on her course content and what advice to give in forensic detail to tailor and deliver the benefits of the Buttafly, as well as her extensive medical knowledge as a physiotherapist and NHS experience to her clients.

Some of her clients thought they would never be free from pain again, but thanks to her, they have rediscovered themselves and been able to rejoin mainstream society, for example, by going back to work, enjoying past leisure pursuits, or simply just being able to play with their grandkids again.

When I first met Loulou, she told me she had a vision: to change lives. Yes, she also wanted to be a successful businesswoman (which she is), but her drive and passion were to help people. She knew then that the Buttafly, together with her extensive medical knowledge, would do that.

Despite many naysayers telling her it may not work, she carried on, sacrificing her home and her personal life. Such was her drive to succeed and bring her skills, knowledge, and innovation to the ‘silent back pain sufferers who had almost given up.

I am glad to say that she has been proven right with her vision: her sacrifices have not been in vain, and many people are living better lives because of her.

It is always nice to buck the trend and prove the naysayers wrong. She has done this through leadership, tenacity, and intellectual innovation. All credit goes to her.

Loulou is a remarkable person and businesswoman. She has truly made a difference and continues to make a difference in her field. Continuous improvement and innovation are her watchwords.

I was so pleased to hear that she deservedly was nominated for this award.

I wish her well for this award and her continued quest to change people’s lives in the future.
