Posture and presence: Finding your centre

What if posture isn’t something we do to the body, but a dynamic expression of how we meet the world?

We often think about posture and alignment in terms of where different parts of the body should be. In yoga, this can easily become an attempt to make the body fit the pose. But what changes when we turn our attention inwards and begin with our own experience instead?

In this practical online workshop, we’ll explore our relationship with the ground, pelvis and spine, and how these foundations influence the way we organise ourselves in stillness and movement.

Through simple, accessible anatomy, guided awareness, breath and imagery, we’ll explore posture from the inside out — noticing habitual patterns, experiencing our relationship with gravity and discovering a sense of centre from which movement can naturally unfold.

We’ll also consider posture as something dynamic rather than fixed: continually adapting to movement, our surroundings and what life is asking of us. Rather than trying to achieve a perfect posture, we’ll explore what it feels like to become more centred, balanced and present within your own body.

The emphasis throughout is on turning understanding into experience — taking simple anatomical and biomechanical principles and exploring what they actually mean in your body and your yoga practice.

Suitable for all levels of yoga practitioner, from complete beginners to experienced teachers. No previous knowledge of anatomy is needed.
