Posture and Presence (OM Yoga Show—lecture)

Embodiment in practice

We’ll explore this question from a seated position. Sitting gives us an interesting place from which to observe ourselves: we are upright, but we are not trying to perform a pose or arrange the body into a particular shape. It offers an opportunity to take a “sneaky peek” at what the body may be doing unconsciously, below the radar of our everyday awareness.

Where does your weight naturally settle? Where might you be holding, bracing or making an effort without realising it? What happens when you become curious about these patterns rather than immediately trying to correct them?

Through simple guided explorations, we’ll consider what posture may reveal about how we meet gravity, respond to our surroundings and react to life. Discover how embodied awareness can become a pathway back to presence—opening the possibility of greater centre, balance and inner steadiness from within.
